Parish Newsletter - List of those who are sick
In a recent newsletter, there was a notice about the sick list which is put on the newsletter most weeks. In case you have not read the notice, it is being shown here.
In order to comply with current legislation regarding the importance of the privacy of individuals we have to ask parishioners to observe the following guidelines which have been sent to us by the Archdiocese: If your name or the name of a friend or relative of yours is on the parish list of prayers for those who are sick, and you would like that name to remain on the list, would you please contact the parish office by email or letter. We need to make sure that you or your friend or family member has consented to their name being on that list.
This is because the list can be seen by a lot of people, as it is printed on the newsletter and is available for anyone to pick up in church and is also published on the internet through the parish website. In a couple of weeks’ time, the list will be restarted with the names of all for whom the parish have consent. This is necessary to make sure the church takes proper care of your information and complies with current data protection law.
If you want to put the name of a sick person on the sick list, there are forms in the sacristies for people to sign. The list will be restarted with the names of all for whom the parish have consent. This is necessary to make sure the church takes proper care of your information and complies with current data protection law.
Parish Weekly Newsletter 1st November 2026
WE are going to continue THIS WEEK SHOWING YOU the whole of the newsletter online below.
Parishes of St Paul & St Timothy ALL SAINTS 1st November 2026
When we think of saints, we might picture stained-glass windows, serious expressions and people who never lost their temper when someone left the kitchen in a mess. It can seem a long way from ordinary life! But today’s Solemnity of All Saints celebrates people who lived ordinary lives with extraordinary love. Many are known by name; countless others are known only to God. They were parents, neighbours, workers and friends. They had difficult days, made mistakes and needed to begin again. Sound familiar? In the Gospel, Jesus gives us the Beatitudes: his picture of a life shaped by God’s love. Blessed are the merciful, the meek and the peacemakers. There is nothing about being famous, impressive or having a perfectly tidy house. Some of us can breathe a sigh of relief! The saints discovered that holiness grows through everyday choices: forgiving when it is difficult, noticing someone who feels forgotten, speaking kindly and standing up for what is right. Being a peacemaker might mean making the first move after an argument. Being merciful might mean allowing someone another chance. Being meek might mean accepting that we do not always need the last word, even when we have an excellent one prepared! Today reminds us that we belong to a family of faith reaching into heaven. The saints pray for us and encourage us onwards. Let us give thanks for them, and for the quiet, faithful people whose goodness has touched our lives. Then let us ask for grace to follow their example. Heaven’s family

OUR CHURCH IS OPEN – COME ON IN! We are one of the few churches these days that are still able to keep our doors open throughout the day, and that's something rather special. You don't have to wait until Sunday to visit, and you certainly don't need an appointment with God! Whether you have five minutes or half an hour, why not pop in? Light a candle, say a prayer, enjoy a little peace and quiet, or simply sit and escape the noise and busyness of everyday life There's no entrance fee, no booking required, and nobody will ask you to do anything! Just come as you are. Our church is not simply a building we use for Mass on Sundays. It is a place of prayer, peace and welcome, with the Blessed Sacrament at its heart. So please, make use of it. The doors are open, the Lord is waiting, and there's always room for one more!
EUCHARISTIC MINISTER TRAINING: 28th November at the Irenaeus Centre, Waterloo. This course examines our baptismal calling, Vatican II’s teaching on ministry, and the role of the Eucharistic minister. It also offers an opportunity to celebrate our place in the Church’s synodal life. Parishes are encouraged to enable the faithful to receive Communion as both the Body and Blood of Christ. This is an ideal opportunity to involve new ministers and, where this is not already the practice, restore Communion under both species. The day runs from 9.15 am to 4.00 pm. Please see Fr Mark if you would like to be a Eucharistic Minister.
JOURNEY IN FAITH 2026: The next meeting is Wednesday 4th November after 7.30 pm mass at 8.00 pm in the Presbytery.
