Special Article for September 2018
We are starting a new feature where someone in the parish is invited to write an article about a particular venture or group. On the first Sunday of the month, the newsletter will contain a short article and this will be expanded in most cases for this special page. The RCIA team are creating the page for this month but the article below is not completed yet - there will be more later this week about the schedule and themes covered.
Rite of Christian Initiation.
R.C.I.A. or, as we name this programme, 'The Journey in Faith'.
The parish has held this very successful programme for a number of years. It runs roughly from the first Wednesday in October through to a few weeks after Easter. We welcome anyone who wishes to become a Catholic or anyone who has not received one or more of the Sacraments. It culminates at the Celebration of Easter (see the 3 pictures at the side which were taken at Easter 2018). We will also welcome any parishioner who may wish to reflect, discuss or share their thoughts about their faith or ask those questions they have thought about for a while.
Over the time this programme has been running, a large number of people have participated and have returned for a second year because they felt they had learnt and had a deeper understanding of their faith and so had benefited from the experience.
Our meetings involve some input from the leaders and discussions in small groups to let us all explore how God can really help to enrich our lives.
We meet on Wednesday evenings 8:00pm to 9:30pm
in St Pauls’ Presbytery (Priest’s house) starting 3rd October and finishing after Easter.
If any one feels they may be interested in coming along after Mass on Wednesday evenings, please speak with Fr. John Meehan (Priest in Charge).
